چکیده
In recent decades, the worldwide production of microalgae has been carried out on an industrial scale. years, market for natural products grown because changes in consumer preferences more products. The objective this study was to demonstrate hepatoprotective capacity fucoxanthin extract obtained from culture Phaeodactylum tricornutum (Culture Collection Alga and Protists Scotland). microalga artificial seawater mixture (1:9), using Walne’s medium columns raceway photobioreactors (RWP) inside a greenhouse. carotenoid content tested systems continued increase day 5 culture, when stationary phase reached. final biomass powder contained 4.9 mg (2.59%) pure fucoxanthin. possible activity then studied HepG2 cell line 24 h compared with cytotoxicity methotrexate (MTX). conclusion, active ingredient showed against MTX human hepatocyte HEPG-2 at concentration 0.25 mg/mL. current results also suggest that it beneficial properties liver health is suitable all types nutraceutical

Biosynthesis of fucoxanthin and diadinoxanthin and function of initial pathway genes in Phaeodactylum tricornutum
The biosynthesis pathway to diadinoxanthin and fucoxanthin was elucidated in Phaeodactylum tricornutum by a combined approach involving metabolite analysis identification of gene function. For the initial steps leading to β-carotene, putative genes were selected from the genomic database and the function of several of them identified by genetic pathway complementation in Escherichia coli. They ...

متن کاملA Rapid Method for the Determination of Fucoxanthin in Diatom
Fucoxanthin is a natural pigment found in microalgae, especially diatoms and Chrysophyta. Recently, it has been shown to have anti-inflammatory, anti-tumor, and anti-obesityactivity in humans. Phaeodactylum tricornutum is a diatom with high economic potential due to its high content of fucoxanthin and eicosapentaenoic acid. In order to improve fucoxanthin production, physical and chemical mutag...
